Moms in Business Unite Conference Inspires, Educates, Excites; Award Winners Announced to Highlight Third Annual Event

Nearly 150 women and mom business owners gathered at the University of San Diego on August 3 for the third annual San Diego Moms in Business Unite Conference, which provided plenty of education and inspiration.

San Diego, CA, August 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Moms in Business Unite, offering a unique educational conference and ongoing resources to enhance the professional and personal lives of women and mom business owners, today announced that its third annual San Diego conference was a rousing success, as nearly 150 women gathered at the University of San Diego to be educated and inspired. One of the highlights of the August 3 event, which was supported by national sponsor Huggies© MomInspired™, was announcing two award winners.

The Mompreneur Grant, awarded to a mom business owner with an innovative business idea who’s in need of capital to take her to the next level, was presented to Lisa Savage of DippyCups, LLC. Her company offers fun, reusable silicon cups that hold kids’ favorite dippy sauces.

The Best New Product or Service of the Year, presented to the Inventor Showcase participant who received the most votes from conference attendees, went to Patty Garegnani of Baby Strawberry. Her company’s product is The Cavvy Cover™, a nursing cover that makes it easier for moms to nurse in public.

The daylong event included an inspiring keynote presentation from female entrepreneurship expert Lorin Beller Blake of Big Fish Nation at the networking lunch, content-rich educational breakout sessions, a resource marketplace and reception, and plenty of opportunities to make new connections. A special highlight of this year’s conference was the participation of Wendy Robbins, co-star of TLC’s “Homemade Millionaire,” who shared her success secrets and met individually with inventors to review their products, and Julie Pickens of Little Busy Bodies/Boogie Wipes, who served as Master of Ceremonies.

“This day validates all the hard work our conference committee does, as we’re thrilled to see so many mom and women business owners energized and excited about either getting started with their businesses or taking them to the next level,” said Randa Cote, MIBU President. “We’re so happy to be able to provide education and inspiration at the conference as well as on an ongoing basis throughout the year.”
