Happy Anniversary: WBENC Certifies Mills Specialty Metals as a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise

Celebrating its first anniversary, Mills Specialty Metals, LLC receives Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) National Certification from Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

Atlanta, GA, August 21, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Mills Specialty Metals, a manufacturer and installer of custom architectural metal components for use in commercial and residential buildings, has been certified by the WBENC as a National Women's Business Enterprise. This national certification recognizes Mills Specialty Metals as a company that is majority owned and controlled by women or a woman, a significant designation frequently required for obtaining government and corporate contracts.

"We're thrilled with the company's first year; this just makes it that much better," notes business owner Ginny Rainey. "Mills Specialty Metals has the expertise needed to meet and exceed our clients' needs-our team has completed more than 300 projects for higher education, government, commercial and residential customers. Thanks to the WBENC's stringent requirements and the WBE certification, we are able to help customers effectively achieve their hiring goals and contract requirements."

Regarding the certification, vice president of operations and minority owner Brian Harkins notes, "We're honored to have received this designation from WBENC, an organization that is highly respected and known for their effective promotion of women-owned businesses."

In order to achieve WBENC Certification, women-owned businesses must pass a rigorous, multi-faceted business application and review process conducted by a trained certification review committee and a site visit administered by one of WBENC's regional partner organizations. The WBENC gold standard of certification is nationally accepted by major corporations and government entities.
