Autism Software Company Launches Spanish Product

New version contains over 150 content programs for children, ages 2-to-9.

Columbia, SC, August 26, 2011 --(PR.com)-- According to the United States Census Bureau, Hispanics now comprise over 50 million of the U.S. population, accounting for 1 out of every 6 Americans. As a result of these growing figures and the increased prevalence of autism in both the United States and Latin America, a leading software provider for the autism and special needs communities has launched DT Trainer Español, a Spanish language version of the company’s flagship product.

Headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina, Accelerations Educational Software (AES) is providing the new software to help address the growing demand for autism-related services among Hispanics and their bilingual parents and educators, as well as non-Hispanics who are learning Spanish.

“Autism does not have any cultural or racial boundaries and we feel it’s important to make our products available to everyone who needs them,” said Karl Smith, founder of AES and a father of a child with autism.

He added, “Our Spanish version will help individuals continue academic advancement in the US while they are learning sufficient English to succeed in English-only classes. In the US, the Spanish version can also help English speaking students learn Spanish.”

The new product from AES contains over 150 programs for individuals with Spanish language skills developmentally ages 2 to 9, and includes activities involving colors, numbers, body parts, math and time. In the current version, the student interaction section is in Spanish, but all administrative functions are in English. Plans are underway for an all-Spanish version that will better cater to Latin American countries.

The DT Trainer is a highly robust virtual teaching assistant that provides instruction for students with moderate-to-severe learning disabilities. Although developed for individuals with autism, the product is flexible and cost effective for those with other learning disorders, as well as neural typical individuals.

In addition to the DT Trainer, AES also provides the Activity Trainer (AT), a video modeling program that uses multi-media and videos as visual learning tools to teach any targeted activity or skill -- from simple to complex. A Spanish version of the Activity Trainer is also in development.

Both products are designed to be affordable for parents and schools, delivering approximately ten-times the amount of content for the cost compared to other special education software currently on the market.
