DirectRooms.com – Lively Performances Warm Up for the Rugby World Cup

DirectRooms.com reveals that before seven of the main matches for Rugby’s World Cup in New Zealand fans can be entertained by a host of leading artists and performers from Christchurch.

Christchurch, New Zealand, September 09, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Christchurch Arts Festival – Garden Variety will be a mixture of performances designed to get fans warmed up to cheer on their respective teams before the players showdown on the pitch. Acts include a stage dedicated to live music and another stage featuring speed dancing where dancers of various disciplines show off their incredible moves.

Stunts and daring moves will be highlighted in the crash pad rugby where the players will be throwing themselves into a series of moves and emphasizing the full contact nature of the sport. Fans can also look forward to the unique show of music and visual effects as part of the ‘Pandemonium Tree Percussion and Aerials’ and people with more classical tastes will love the vocals of the Southern Opera accompanied by the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.

All the events will be staged in Hagley Park before the start of the main games on seven different dates from 10th September to 23rd October 2011 and will last for around two hours.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: “Christchurch City Centre hotels are already going to be busy with people coming to watch the games and the shows will bring more people to the area. Making an early reservation online will therefore be necessary for all people attending.”
