Diamond Volunteer Program Call for 2012 Applications

The deadline for local non-profit organizations to submit their applications for the 2012 Diamond Volunteer Award is next month on October 15, 2011.

Naples, FL, September 10, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Diamond Volunteer Program is now accepting applications for the 2012 Award series. Kelly E. Capolino, local real estate professional with Keating Associates in Naples, Florida and founder of the Diamond Volunteer Program, has announced that the largely successful volunteer recognition program will be renewed and expanded for the 2012 season.

The Diamond Volunteer Program was created to honor volunteers of local non-profit agencies and as a way to raise awareness of the non-profit organizations’ efforts to improve the quality of life for others in their community. There are three organizations chosen each year to receive the award. The award series provides each of the winning groups a personal cocktail reception for up to 25 people, a radio interview, media/press coverage, and a framed award.

Winners of the award have included: Baby Basics of Collier County, The Penny Bear Company, and the Make-A-Wish® Foundation of Southern Florida for 2010. There were four groups honored in 2011, Hope for Haiti, Bedtime Bundles, Sunlight Home and Senior Friendship Center.

“Getting to know these groups has been very rewarding on so many levels. Meeting their volunteers and hearing their stories are unforgettable,” says Capolino. “There are so many non-profit organizations in our community and I wish I could thank them all personally. I know that I will remain connected with the 2010 and the 2011 winners of the Diamond Volunteer Program and will continue to offer my support. The program includes my pledge of 15% of my commission from any real estate transaction that comes from a referral from any of the winning organizations. I am very excited meeting more incredible volunteers this coming year.”

Nominations for the 2012 Diamond Volunteer Award are now being accepted. Non-profit organizations working to have a positive impact in the community that are interested in being chosen should email: a short statement about their organization, which volunteers would be honored (i.e. – board members, special events volunteers, etc.), and why they would like to honor their volunteers in this way. The application is a simple Case Statement which should be limited to one page and emailed to DiamondVolunteers@gmail.com before October 15th. Winners will be selected by a panel and notified on or before November 10, 2011.
