Writers' Week, an Event for Professional and Aspiring Writers Begins September 12, 2011

Indianapolis, IN, September 12, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Writers' Week, a week long event for writers and aspiring writers, kicks off on Monday, September 12, 2011. The event features more than 100 resources, 18 blog posts, 50 unique writing prompts, 1 writing contest and 15 prizes in total.

"The goal of Writers' Week is to motivate writers and bloggers to connect with a large writing community and practice their craft. The writing contest is relatively low-key, but it promises to be fun. I am sponsoring first, second, and third place Amazon.com gift card prizes, as well as giving away some great books to random participants. Additional prize sponsors have teamed up with me to offer professional critiques, design services, T-shirts, and more. There really be something for everyone from the professional to the beginner," says Emily Suess.

The writing contest which starts on Monday, September 12 and remains open until Friday, September 16 at 11:59 p.m. will be open internationally, though some prizes may be substituted for any winner(s) that live outside the US or Canada. The first-place entry will also be published on Moxymag.com.

The rest of Writers' Week includes discussions on the following posts and topics: 100 resources for writers, how reading a bad book can make a writer better at their craft, a day-long series called "From Writer to Writer" including tips and advice from writing professionals, and suggestions for launching or improving one's freelance writing career.

"I am very grateful to all of the Writers' Week sponsors including, Small Business Bonfire, All Freelance Writing, and Smiling Tree Writing for helping me in encouraging a new group of writers and authors. Many volunteers in the writing and editing field have volunteered their time to help make 'From Writer to Writer' possible as well," says Suess.
