Vivanista to Host First-of-Its-Kind Charitable Fundraising Summit

Everyone is a volunteer fundraiser, whether for Girl Scouts, an alma mater, child’s school or favorite museum. But not everyone knows how to raise funds.

San Francisco, CA, September 17, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Vivanista announces its first Fundraising Summit November 10 – 12 at the Westin San Francisco Airport. In addition to nonprofit Board members and development staff, this two and a half day Summit arms volunteer leaders and event chairs with the tools and techniques to improve their fundraising success in a competitive and crowded industry that is vying for the same shrinking dollars. Summit speakers will address the most pressing issues facing fundraisers, from how to implement multi-channel fundraising campaigns to integrating social media into pre-event promotions to sell more tickets.

Vivanista’s Summit disrupts the traditional conference concept by creating a festive, social atmosphere. Never before has there been a conference for volunteer fundraisers. Built on the foundation of charitable fundraising best practices, attendees will take part in"‘Wine and Technology" pairings at the Welcome Reception; "Auction Wars" where attendees tweet which auctioneer style they like best; and, "Speed Mentoring" with attendees providing peer-to-peer advice in five minute increments.

“I have attended and run dozens of conferences and admire the fresh, fun and dynamic energy that Vivanista brings to the non-profit world. Vivanista has tapped into an innovative group of philanthropists and nonprofiteers that break the 'status quo' and have fun experimenting with new models of philanthropy.” -Brady Hahn, Founder of The Nonprofit Effect

The Summit kicks off Thursday, November 10 with a full day Boot Camp packed with in-depth workshops on fundraising and leadership, geared specifically to volunteer organizations. The evening of November 11th will be an Awards Gala where nominees in a variety of volunteer leadership categories will be honored for their outstanding work in fundraising.

The third day of the Summit takes a turn towards community building especially as it pertains to engaging philanthro-teens and young professionals. After the closing keynote at noon, attendees are invited to participate in the afternoon teen multi-media forum, sponsored by the UN Foundation Girl Up initiative and held at the Levi Strauss headquarters, which will culminate in a concert by up and coming teen singer/songwriter, Olivia Somerlyn.
