Quality Transcription Services Selects MD-IT to Provide Narrative Note EMR to Growing Client Base

MD-IT announces the recent addition of Quality Transcription Services of Kalispell, Montana to its MTSO (Medical Transcription Service Organization) Associate program, enabling their customer base to transition to the industry’s only narrative note EMR.

Boulder, CO, September 22, 2011 --(PR.com)-- MD-IT, the leading provider of medical documentation software and service to ambulatory clinics and physician groups, announced today the recent addition of Quality Transcription Services of Kalispell, Montana to its MTSO (Medical Transcription Service Organization) Associate program.

After building the business with a different platform provider, QTS selected MD-IT to offer the next generation of electronic records.

“In order to stay competitive in this industry and be able to help our physicians meet Meaningful Use, we realized we needed to be able to offer a full scope of services to our clients, from transcription services all the way up to offering an EMR,” said QTS Director of Operations Shauna Hubbard. “After extensively researching platform options, MD-IT stood out as a platform on steroids with many more options and features than we had seen anywhere else. We are looking forward to growing with them.”

The MD-IT Platform incorporates robust medical documentation technology including e-prescribing, health information exchange, patient list generator (for culling discrete reportable narrative data), front-end speech recognition, and the industry’s only narrative note-based EMR.

“This relationship allows our company to expand from a ‘medical transcription’ company to a ‘medical documentation service,’” Hubbard added.

MD-IT’s growing network of MTSO Associates host their existing transcription business on the MD‑IT Platform. Once on the Platform, doctors can easily be transitioned to the narrative note-based MD‑IT EMR, with no change to their workflow.

“Most MTSOs are not equipped to help their customers adopt technology like voice recognition, natural language processing, EMR optimization, or incorporate a Health Information Exchange (HIE) into their practice or clinic,” said MD-IT Senior Consultant Bobby Powers. “Partnering with a healthcare IT technology company such as MD-IT can provide a new business model and help them move from a typing, production-oriented company to a hybrid MTSO that offers both traditional transcription and cutting-edge EHR/EMR technology. The value they can then offer is the creation of the narrative note, which requires MD-IT’s technology and software expertise.”

Julie Bramlet, QTS Director of Business Development, added that they feel like, “One of the big boys now. We’re not just the company that puts words on paper for physician practices, but we’re able to up the ante by having an IT conversation with clients. Now they’re calling us, looking for solutions, and they entrust us to find the answer with MD-IT.”
