Natural Hair Care Industry Pioneers Discuss the New Direction of Natural Hair Care

Industry pioneers, Taliah Waajid, Erica Blevins, and Jamilah Shakir will be speaking at the Atlanta Natural Hair Care Professional (ANHC Pro) October business breakfast. Each speaker has been in the natural hair care industry for over 20 years. The breakfast is being held in conjunction with International Black HAIRitage Month. The speakers will discuss the natural hair industry and how it has evolved over the years.

Atlanta, GA, September 23, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The October Atlanta Natural Hair Care Professional (ANHC Pro) breakfast is being held on October 17, 2011 from 10am to 12pm at Mojito Restaurant located inside of Hotel Midtown and is being co-sponsored by ADT Representative Majorie Clay. As part of International Black HAIRitage Month, ANHC Pro has collected a group of leading natural hair care professionals to teach about the history of the natural hair care industry and where the industry is going. The guests will consist of Taliah Waajid, Creator and Owner of Black Earth Products and the World Natural Hair Health and Beauty Show; Erica Blevins Owner of Oh! My Nappy Hair’s Atlanta location; and Jamilah Shakir, Author of “I Can Do My Own Nappy Hair.” ANHC Pro will ask the guests questions about how today’s professionals can take advantage of the new opportunities available in the natural hair care industry and also open the floor up to for Q&A.

Erica Blevins’ family has been in the industry for 22 years. Erica’s mother opened the first Oh! Jamilah Shakir is a 27 year veteran in the industry; inventor of Easy Braids; developer and CEO of, Saniyyah Naturally natural hair products; and the author of “I Can Do My Own Nappy Hair.”

Atlanta Natural Hair Care Professional’s monthly business breakfast is for salons, stylists, barbers, and students who specialize in or are interested in natural hair care. The breakfast serves as a place for professionals to meet and learn about ideas, products, services, issues, and events that are relevant to the natural hair care industry. The breakfast is free for Atlanta Natural Hair Care Professional members and $15.00 for the general public. It includes of a breakfast buffet, a 30-45 minute presentation from the guest speakers and 30 minutes of open discussion leaving time afterwards for networking.
