)-- Performance Indicator LLC, experts in color change technology, has developed inks that are applied with existing procedures but rendered completely invisible, without the damaging effects and expense of current removal techniques.
Scientists at Performance Indicator (PI) have patented colorful tissue marking inks that undergo a one-time, irreversible change from color to colorless … with no painful effects when a single laser treatment is applied. Current removal methods involve multiple treatments that become costly and time consuming, causing considerable discomfort and possible scarring.
“Because of our well-known core competency in color modulation, we were approached by a professor at Harvard Medical School who challenged us to find a way to safely and instantly remove a tattoo. After researching the damage and expense of current day removal techniques, we were compelled to find a solution,” said Dr. Satish Agrawal, PI’s Chief Technology Officer. Dr. Agrawal states, “Our solution offers an inexpensive and fast way to make an otherwise permanent tattoo invisible, thus making the tattoo or body-marking disappear.” Even when the ink is made invisible, it remains intact in the dermal layer and is not “discharged” into the lymph system along with harsh ink ingredients, as with current removal methods.
Mike Charley, PI’s Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales states, “Our inks will change the tissue marking industry as we know it, in cosmetic and medical marking as well as tattoo art. Imagine being able to get any kind of tattoo and wear it proudly as long as you like, until the moment you wish it to go away…completely and painlessly.” PI recognizes the value in the versatility of the inks to change from color to colorless, but most values the improved safety and ease involved with removal.
