Martini Park Debuts with AV from Design/Build Firm John Lyons Systems

Los Angeles, CA, April 14, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Design/build firm John Lyons Systems recently completed a professional audio, video and lighting installation at the world’s first Martini Park located at The Shops at Legacy in Plano, TX, one of the top lifestyle centers in the country. Featuring an unprecedented combination of interior design, signature martinis and cocktails, and live and DJ entertainment, Martini Park opened its doors December 2006 to much fanfare.

Designed by world-class architect Jeffrey Beers, the 7,500 square foot Martini Park seats a total of 500 patrons and offers seating choices in the Main bar as well as three other dining and lounging areas – the Stage bar for live music performances, the elevated Round bar and the casual Patio bar. Martini Park owner Christopher Barish turned to John Lyons Systems to provide the professional audio, video and lighting for the unique space. Barish and nightlife impresario Lyons had previously worked together on Barish’s Light nightclub at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

Lyons noted: “Because Martini Park is a high-end, sophisticated bar for the 21+ crowd, it was important that the sound system provide clarity at a reasonable SPL. The sound needed to envelope the crowd but not be so deafeningly loud as to drive people away. In addition, the sleek lines of the interior design meant that the sound system needed to blend in with the décor and essentially become invisible.”

The sound system design included 86 total loudspeakers, including thirty-two JBL Control 328c 8" coaxial ceiling speakers, two JBL Control 312CS 12" high output in-ceiling subwoofer, six EAW CIS400 ceiling speakers, and two each of EAW’s SB120 and SB250 subwoofers. The design also included six EAW JL12 custom 12-inch coaxial ceiling speakers co-developed by Lyons and EAW. “The design concept was two-fold. High-powered ceiling speakers allowed me to blanket the entire space with sound while keeping the loudspeaker hidden from view.”

In fact, the Stage bar is the only area at Martini Park with visible loudspeakers. Lyons designed this spot to accommodate live music performances. He added: “With live music playing there seven nights a week, the PA system is designed so that clarity is more important than volume. It provides an even distribution of loud, clean sound.”

The PA consists of two EAW AX 396 3-way full range loudspeakers, two EAW AX122 subwoofers, four EAW VRM12s used for stage monitors, and four EAW Commercial SMS5s for fill. The entire sound system is powered by Crown XTI-series amplifiers, with a BSS Audio BLU-16 handling signal processing.

Martini Park also features a permanent DJ booth designed by Lyons. The booth features a Mackie TT24 digital mixer, two Pioneer CDJ 1000s, one Pioneer DJM 800 mixer, one BSS Audio BLU-10 used for zone control, and a Behringer BCF 2000 lighting control.
