Scratch Delivers Canada’s First “Mom’s Night Out” for urbanmoms.ca

Toronto, Canada, April 17, 2007 --(PR.com)-- On March 28th, urbanmoms.ca, Canada’s free online community for busy moms, invited 300 moms to leave the kids at home and get pampered and catered to, receiving a much deserved break and a little bit of indulgence at Two Rosehill in mid-town Toronto. The evening was developed and executed by scratch and playfully called Mom’s Night Out.

The evening began as an opportunity for moms to share, inspire and laugh about the rewards and challenges that all parents face. However, the night quickly evolved into one of the most memorable evenings and the place to be for 2007. The evening was filled with delicious canapés, tantalizing desserts, spectacular fashions, and beauty makeovers from Conair, Clinique and Schick. There was also something for every woman - chocolate, cocktails, beauty makeovers and massages.

Reaction from the “urbanmoms” in attendance was very promising:

o The event was sold out within 2 weeks and began with a line around the block
o 37% of attendees told more than 10 of their friends about “Mom’s Night Out”
o The top-4 elements of the event were:
o The gift bag
o The food
o The Conair/Redd Hair Salon
o Cuisinart Chef

o Qualitative feedback on the event from attendees included:
o “It was a fantastic evening to get out with my ‘mom’ friends, socialize, the drinks, the food and goodie bags were a HUGE surprise.”
o “What a fabulous evening! Can’t wait until the next one.”
o “”It was great and well organized, it was exactly what mom’s need – a break!”
o “It was just great to be a “girl” again.”

Feedback from corporate sponsors was also a resoundingly positive. Co-sponsors included Cuisinart, Laura Secord, Clinique, Conair, Redd, Shick, Baileys, Frigidaire, HBC, Air Miles, and Sun Rype.

“I love the way the whole evening was laid out by scratch, it was executed flawlessly and the variety of corporate sponsorship was quite impressive.”
Leon Benz
Marketing Director, Conair

“As a mom and a sponsor, I really appreciate an event like this. I had a great time with my fellow urbanmom’s and had a chance to see consumers interact with my brand.”
Michelle Kostya

Media exposure for this event was quite extensive with full page editorial in the National Post, Marketing Magazine, Toronto Star, Slice, Chatelaine and several online properties.
