The TJX Companies and Nourishing USA Pack Hunger Kits to Help Feed Thousands of Families Around the USA

TJX through their corporate responsibility programs are volunteering with Nourishing USA to pack Hunger Kits for groups across the U.S. so they can combat hunger and malnutrition in their communities.

New York, NY, October 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The TJX Companies and Nourishing USA are rolling up their sleeves in a partnership that will help to provide 50,000 nutritious meals to emergency food programs around the United States this fall and another 100,000 this spring. Volunteers from TJX stores across the New York/Westchester Area are packing the Hunger Advocacy Kits with everything that will be needed to nourish communities across the country; allowing Americans to help Americans.

“We are thrilled to be announcing this partnership. Not only is The TJX Companies a national retail leader they are truly committed to enriching the lives of their Associates as well as their customers and neighbors who live and work in these neighborhoods they serve,” said Gina Keatley, founder and CEO of Nourishing USA. “Nourishing USA and The TJX Corporations are also working to reduce their carbon footprint—which is one of the reasons Nourishing USA loves to partner with TJX. TJX’s conservation and use of alternative energy are examples for the industry and fall in line with our own green initiatives.”

“Since The TJX Companies' inception, delivering value to our customers has been our mission, valuing our Associates has been at our core, returning value to our shareholders has been a constant priority and adding value to our communities has been a central pursuit. Above all else, our corporate value has always been acting with integrity which informs everything we do.”

"A lot of labor and love goes in to each kit that we prepare and we would not be able to meet the demand if not for the help of the wonderful volunteers from The TJX Corporations," said Scott Keatley, Founder of Nourishing USA. “This has been an on-going partnership that we have been grateful to have since 2008 and we commend Store Manager Steve Mulvey for continuing to push volunteerism within his store and around the region.”

Nourishing USA, headquartered in New York, NY, strives to increase involvement in the community by supporting emergency food shelters in a healthful way.
