Business Meetings Malta at a Key Conference in Brussels

Theresa Delia as CEO of Business Meetings Malta Ltd, was invited by Eurochambres as a key speaker to present the AMIE project at a conference in Brussels entitled "Imagining Growth: accelerating women's enterprise in Europe."

St. Julian's, Malta, October 14, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Theresa Delia, CEO, Business Meetings Malta, was recently in Brussels attending as a key speaker to an important conference organized by West Midlands in Europe.

The conference which was entitled "Imagining Growth: accelerating women's enterprise in Europe" was held on the 5th October 2011 at the West Midlands European Centre in Brussels. Sally Arkley presented an interim report on their project "Imagining Growth, European integrated Business Growth for Female Owned Enterprises," which is being funded by the Leonardo Lifelong Learning Programme (2009 -2011). Sally Arkley is the Holder of the Queen's Award for Enterprise Promotion and is also the project director.

Contributions and interactive sessions during the morning came from the various project partners. These included the Polish Chambers of Commerce in Warsaw, the Italian Chambers of Commerce in Sofia, Bulgaria and presentations from the Biella Chambers of Commerce, Italy. Also present were representatives from the Head of Unit for Entrepreneurship (E1) DG Enterprise and Industry, the Polish Residency attache for Entrepreneurship, eonomic and trade Section, permanent representation of the Republic of Poland to the EU.

The afternoon session roundtable speakers saw Theresa Delia from Business Meetings Malta and representative of Eurochambres Women Network, present the "Ambassadors in Malta for Increasing women Entrepreneurship", also known as the AMIE project which is an EU funded action under the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (CIP) European Network of Female Entrepreneurship Ambassadors. Other speakers included the Founder and Managing Director of JUMP and a representative from the Head of EU Public Affairs - ICAEW, British Chamber of Commerce in Belgium.

The final presentations were made on behalf of the Director of the Paris/Ile de France Chamber of Commerce and Industry Brussels Office and member of the Eurochambres Women Network (EWN). Interventions from the following keynote speakers were from the Essec Business School, Chambre de Commerce du val d'Oise. Representative of the Romanian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Brussels Office). The Federation of Pionnieres, Mentors and representatives from the European Business & Innovation Centre Network.

An open debate followed all of the presentations and a brainstorming session was conducted to compile the main recommendations for the European Commission. At the end of this remarkable day a cocktail reception was held where conference attendees were able to network.
