)-- David Tillman, MD, MPH, Joins Partners in Care Foundation as Chief Medical Officer
David B. Tillman, MD, MPH, joins Partners in Care Foundation in the position of Chief Medical Officer effective September 1, 2011. Dr. Tillman is an experienced health care executive whose work includes medical group management, many years as a hospital CEO, as well as oversight of long-term care and residential communities. “David brings tremendous strength and experience in the area of community-based care at a time when Partners’ work is focused more and more on integrating health care and community resources to meet the demands of our older adult population. The Board and I are honored to have David join us as we work to develop and implement new models of care designed to bridge the gap between providers, patients, families and the community. We envision a system where patients and their families can leave a clinical setting and return to the community with linkages to the necessary supports to ensure the very best outcomes for patients and their families,” notes June Simmons, President & CEO of Partners in Care Foundation.
In his new role, Dr. Tillman will provide medical input and oversight to the many innovative programs and services Partners’ is currently operating and will lend his expertise to the development of the new models of care Partners is pursuing.
“It is an honor to join the Partners team and work with June Simmons during this time of transformative change in our health care system. Today more than ever providers of health care services are focusing on care that is provided in the community and Partners is ideally positioned to implement and evaluate new models. I expect these will lower costs, enhance satisfaction, and most important improve clinical outcomes,” notes Dr. Tillman.
“Having Dr. Tillman join us at this point in our evolution, signals the dynamic growth and expansion opportunities Partners is experiencing. Partners is poised to bring even greater expertise to the field, broaden our impact, and shape the future of health care,” says Partners’ Board Chair, Seth Ellis.
