ACA/ULR Director Mohammed Bakht Defends CMCs

Interview with ACA/ULR director Mohammed Bakht regarding Jack Straw's comments to the Travel Select Committee.

Luton, United Kingdom, October 20, 2011 --(PR.com)-- ACA/ULR director, Mohammed Bakht, has rubbished Jack Straw’s latest comments that CMCs are merely "parasites."

Mr Straw, who was giving evidence into the rising cost of motor insurance to the Transport Select Committee, said that claims management companies were "parasites in the system."

Mr Bakht defended CMCs and even stated that the new system will be favourable for insurance companies.

“Jack Straw’s comments are clearly a load of hogwash. The insurers are selling their PIs (Personal Injury) and RTAs (Road Traffic Accident) directly to law firms and receiving referral monies in return,” he said.

He continued: “The referral fee ban would effectively run hand in hand with ABS reforms and create in-house law firms for insurance companies, very fortunate timing that the two will coincide.”

Mr Bakht went on to say: "Firms who sell insurance will be nothing more than claims factories, selling millions of policies and processing the RTAs back into their in house law firms, with costs hidden in administration or marketing expenses."

He further commented that the new system would take away consumer choice.
“What happened to allowing the people to make their own choices? What happened to the facility of going somewhere that provides bespoke customer service to an individual customer, not just a policy number?

“It is clear hypocrisy and a total injustice to allow the big corporations to monopolise and take away consumer choice.”

ACA/ULR is a claims management company who operate on a no win, no fee basis. They deal with both accident and personal injury claims.
