Local Flower Shop Recognized Twice for Competition Designs

Raleigh, NC, October 20, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Janice Cutler, President and owner of North Raleigh Florist (http://www.northraleighfloristinc.com), has announced that two of the shop’s floral designers were recognized at the 2011 Wake County Florist Association Designer of the Year competition. Samantha Bunn, shop manager, garnered top honors and was named the Wake County Designer of the Year 2011 and received a $1,000 scholarship to further her education. Floral designer Venetia Gentzler was second runner-up in the competition. Lead designer Brandi Dennison previously won Wake County Designer of the Year in 2009.

Competitors were tasked with completing floral designs in the categories of bridal, sympathy, buffet centerpiece and surprise design in 90 minutes. Each contestant received the same flowers to complete their arrangements, which were judged on mechanics, color, texture, design, aesthetics and originality.
