Adoption STAR Focusing Awareness on Special Needs Adoption During National Adoption Month

Starting with its Shining STAR Event, Adoption STAR is using National Adoption Month in November to focus much needed awareness on special needs adoption.

Buffalo, NY, October 23, 2011 --(PR.com)-- November is National Adoption Month, and Adoption STAR, a not- for-profit adoption agency in Buffalo, is planning a month-long celebration with many important events, including the kick-off event known as Shining Star, that focuses much needed awareness on special needs adoption. Adoption STAR believes that every child deserves a forever family and this is echoed by adoptive parents, Bernie and Sheila Winter who adopted Grace, a baby with Down Syndrome, from Adoption STAR.

Bernie and Sheila both agree that Grace has completed their life and they can’t imagine life without their loving daughter.

“Adopting a child with special needs is a gift that is so hard to explain. It’s the best gift in the world for yourself, for your child,” Sheila said. “The bonds seem stronger, every night you lay your baby down and put your child to bed, and you just know that today was for her or him and us. It’s just so overwhelming.”

Special needs adoption is very important to Adoption STAR and every year it holds a charity event in November to raise money for special needs adoption.
