Crown Honda of Southpoint Supports the January Foundation for Burn Survivors

Durham, NC, November 02, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Crown Honda of Southpoint, a dealership in the Triangle area, is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the January Foundation for Burn Survivors’ monthly cookouts to serve the residents of the Ronald McDonald House and to raise funds for the Carolina Children’s Hospital Burn Unit.

The January Foundation for Burn Survivors is a local non-profit organization that was started by James January, who survived a devastating car crash in 1991 that left him with burns covering 85 to 90 percent of his body. The Foundation’s philosophy centers on the belief that, in order to maximize the effectiveness of education, prevention, and post-burn programs, highly-trained burn survivors must be present as part of the burn team. The January Foundation, also known as BurnSurvivor.org, provides emotional support, education, prevention, and motivation to burn survivors, especially children.

As part of its charity efforts, the January Foundation holds regular cookouts for the residents of the Chapel Hill Ronald McDonald House, which provides housing and a nurturing community setting for the 1,800 families who stay there each year while their children undergo treatment at area hospitals. The cookouts are an opportunity to create ties and foster fellowship among the current residents of the Ronald McDonald House and the larger local community.

Crown Honda of Southpoint is proud to partner with the January Foundation to sponsor these cookouts. The next cookout will be held on Monday, November 21, and there are also events scheduled for mid-January and mid-February.
