All local residents are invited and encouraged to visit the memorial, sign the memorial, and submit a note of condolence from our community tho theirs. All signatures, cards, and notes will be officially delivered to the Virginia Tech Community by Madison Funeral Home.
This is an effort to open a stream of sympathy, support, and hope, from our community to all those who have been affected in some way. Please encourage children, teens, college students, Church groups, and anyone else who has a need to express feelings from a long distance location. In a time of national mourning, people who are distant may have difficulty working through the grief process without having some local outlet. In creating this memorial tribute, Madison Funeral Home is attempting to serve those in our community who may feel the need to express grief outwardly or publicly.
Special memorial cards are on hand for individuals to write personal messages to those affected. The public memorial will be open through April 30, 2007.
