The 2011 Continental Group Annual Conference and Exposition is a Success

Miami, FL, November 09, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Continental Group (TCG), a FirstService Residential Management company, hosted The 2011 Continental Group Annual Conference and Exposition on Friday, Oct. 28th at the Seminole Hard Rock & Casino in Hollywood, FL. This conference was designed to meet the needs of board members, property managers and maintenance supervisors across the state who expressed the desire to gain knowledge and tools to help them with their day-to-day operations and long-term planning. Themed “Partnership is Serious Business,” conference attendees experienced the largest educational forum in the state for exchanging Community Association best practices and establishing core business relationships with subject-matter experts. More than 1,500 people were in attendance, with the audience comprised of TCG Condominium and Homeowners Association Board Members, along with Exhibitors, Community Association Managers and TCG employees.

“No other community association management organization has the ability to put together an event of this magnitude. The full day of educational events addressed key topics affecting association board members as well as TCG employees. For TCG, it’s all about delivering added value while building meaningful relationships,” stated Tim O’Keefe, CEO of TCG.

The Conference also included a vendor exposition, with close to 100 exhibitors representing dozens of industries, services and products to help property managers and board members manage communities more effectively. Education Seminars held throughout the day fulfilled state requirements for board member certification. Attendees also enjoyed a good laugh with Keynote Speaker and Pullitzer Prize winner, Dave Barry, who reflected on the unique aspects of South Florida living.

A portion of the event’s proceeds were donated through Continental Cares – TCG’s philanthropic arm – to the “I Have a Dream” Foundation of Miami. Tim O’Keefe and Dave Barry presented a check for $10,000 to the foundation, which ensures that inner city youth have the means to pursue a college degree (www.ihaveadreamfoundationmiami.com).
