SoBran Gives to Women and Children

Dayton, OH, November 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- A Special Thanksgiving for the Women and Children of Linda Vista

Most people expect to spend Thanksgiving at home, surrounded by friends and family. For the women and children of Linda Vista, “home” has a very different meaning this year. Previously homeless, they will celebrate Thanksgiving together with the Linda Vista Project on their path to self-sufficiency.

The Linda Vista Project works to reduce homelessness, providing long-term housing for female-headed families and single women in the city of Dayton and Montgomery County. The organization offers safe housing, supportive services and comprehensive self-sufficiency planning.

This Thanksgiving, SoBran, Inc., a government services contractor with headquarters in Dayton, will be hosting a catered luncheon in support of the families at Linda Vista. The seven families of Linda Vista will have an afternoon to relax and feel safe as they sit together at a table of turkey and trimmings.

“Feeling welcomed by the community is very important to these families as they work to become independent. With SoBran’s support, we are very pleased to provide them with a safe retreat and sense of belonging on Thanksgiving,” said Carmen Gooden, a founder of the Linda Vista Project.

“The strength of the women and children of Linda Vista are an inspiration. While most of us take for granted our own Thanksgiving plans, these families remind us that there is much to be thankful for. SoBran is a long-time proud supporter of the families and staff of the Linda Vista Project,” said Amos Otis, CEO and Founder of SoBran, Inc.
