DirectBuy of Sarasota Sponsors the 2011 Sarasota Chalk Festival

Local members-only buying club contributes $5,000 sponsorship in support of the 2011 “Pavement Art through the Ages” Sarasota Chalk Festival.

The 2011 Sarasota Chalk Festival, themed “Pavement Art through the Ages”, saw artists both locally and internationally descend upon Sarasota to display their talents – literally – on South Pineapple Avenue through oversized, pastel chalk street paintings. Patrons are able to then view the completed art and also donate money to each artist, with the top earner being bestowed with the People’s Choice Cash Award.

Located at 7426 16th Street East in Sarasota, the club and owners Rich and Katherine Miller were more than happy to do their part to help support these artists by contributing as a sponsor. "The Sarasota Chalk Festival epitomizes the flavor of Sarasota culture and creativity, and there’s something here that will reach families and people of all ages, from music and acting to painting and much more,” said Katherine Miller, owner of DirectBuy of Sarasota. “To see all this culture, creativity, and art forms from around the world is just amazing and we’re very excited to have had the chance to contribute to this outstanding event.”
