James J. Young III Installed as Tenth Head of Harbor Country Day School

St. James, NY, November 10, 2011 --(PR.com)-- On October 14, 2011, in an on-campus ceremony in the company of students, parents, faculty, staff, current and past trustees and friends, Harbor Country Day School formally installed James J. Young III as the tenth Head of School. “Harbor Country Day School is on the move,” said Mr. Young. “We are continuing to provide individualized attention and focusing on educating the whole child.”

During the Installation Ceremony, Board of Trustees Chair David Essex spoke about the knowledge and character qualities that today’s students will need to become successful leaders tomorrow. “Zest, Grit, Gratitude, Hope, Humility, and Humor are some of these key traits that are incorporated into the Harbor Country Day School program every day,” said Mr. Essex.

New York State Senator John J. Flanagan, Chairman of the Education Committee of the State Senate, was on hand to present Mr. Young with a Proclamation honoring his induction as Head of School and officially welcoming Mr. Young to the community.

Jim Young came to Harbor Country Day in July after serving for sixteen years as the Headmaster of Rocky Hill School in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, where he compiled an outstanding record of success. “The future has never been brighter at Harbor Country Day School,” said Mr. Young, “and I am thrilled to be a part of it.”

Founded in 1958, Harbor Country Day School is an Independent Day School educating and serving children from Nursery to Grade Eight. “Harbor cherishes childhood, cultivates wonder and inspires confident learners and leaders” is the Mission that guides Harbor Country Day School.
