Dad Creates Shopping Website so He Can "Shop Quick – Play More" with His Young Daughter

A newly single dad took his young daughter shopping, so that she would have clothing at his home, when she was staying with him. After several frustrating attempts to purchase clothing that all fit and worked together, he had the idea to sell pre-assembled outfits that are consistently sized and complete. Hence the website motto "Shop quick - play more."

Grand Rapids, MI, November 12, 2011 --(PR.com)-- When newly single dad Mark Peters took his young daughter Isabella shopping for clothes, it was even more difficult than he thought it would be to outfit her. Putting clothing together for various activities - school, play dates, and other special functions - was time consuming, and then not all the pieces he wanted were available. Add in the short attention span of a child, and suddenly he had a thought. What if he could just select complete outfits for her? Not finding what he was looking for at the local mall, he checked online but to no avail. His Eureka Moment became www.DressMeDaddy.com. “Taking my daughter shopping was so frustrating,” he says ruefully. “Picking up a few things for her sounded easy, but it wasn’t.” A busy executive who also oversees a family business, his time – as is many working parents - to spend with his child is precious. 'Shop fast – play more' came about as our motto because that is what I really want to do. Shopping is very time consuming, and takes time from being with my daughter and I don’t like that,” he explains. Choosing what to offer on the website wasn’t easy, but Peters did have some standards that were important to him and his daughter. “She doesn’t have to have a full wardrobe when she is with me, but I wanted what she wore to be really special,” he explains. “Quality was also crucial, with great fabrics and accessories that would all work together.” DressMeDaddy.com stocks clothing for infants beginning at 6 months and ends at children’s size 6, for both boys and girls. “Even figuring out what size to buy for her in the stores was difficult,” says Peters. “Then the fit varies from the different manufacturers.” The website features a video that explains how to measure a small child painlessly, and by offering limited lines of clothing parents are assured that ordering by size is consistent and will fit their child. “The lines we offer - Catimini, Giggle Moon, Eliane et Lena, Wild Mango, Desigual, Tralala - all fit the same,” he says. “In about 15 minutes you can measure your child, order a few outfits, and have the clothing for the next season coming to your doorstep, all without unloading a stroller.”
