Independent Caterer Feeds Independent News

Dunsden, United Kingdom, April 27, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Independent staff catering company, Charlton House, has gained a catering contract with the leading international newspaper and communications group, Independent News & Media PLC.

Under a five-year contract worth £600K in annual turnover, Charlton House now manages catering services at the Group’s Canary Wharf offices since taking over from the incumbent caterers, Aramark, on 3rd February. The seven-day-a-week catering operation includes a breakfast, lunch and dinner service for 600 INM staff on site.

Nico Prinsloo, Charlton House business development manager, said: ”We were awarded this contract after a lengthy tender process via Dalkia, the technical FM and energy management company. Throughout the tender, we had to demonstrate our ability to provide high quality food and outstanding service. I believe that financial transparency was also a key factor in our success. Our goal now, as ever, is to deliver our promises, and to give INM staff an exciting food offer that reflects the ethos and pioneering spirit of this leading newspaper group. We are introducing theatre cooking, a made-to-order deli bar and healthy, contemporary food choices.”

Charlton House currently holds over 135 contracts and employs 1,500 people nationwide. The company enjoys an annualised turnover of £54 million. Clients include Her Majesty’s Treasury, The National Assembly for Wales and the corporate headquarters of BUPA, Sony (United Kingdom) Ltd and Network Rail.
