Colorado Volvo Dealership Asks the Community to Help Out Local Non-Profit by Participating in Their Thanksgiving Turkey Drive

McDonald Volvo is asking for the Denver community to donate frozen turkeys and give donations to support the Denver Rescue Mission’s Annual Thanksgiving Banquet.

Denver, CO, November 20, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Denver area Volvo Dealer, McDonald Volvo, has just announced a call to action for local businesses and residents to rise funds and food for the Denver Rescue Mission’s annual Thanksgiving Banquet.

The local car dealership learned that the Denver Rescue Mission, a Denver Non-Profit Organization, was about 8,400 turkeys shorter than their typical 10,000 and they decided to lend a hand. The non-profit hold an annual banquet in which they give away frozen turkeys to families in need and hand out Thanksgiving dinners.

The McDonald Automotive Group has worked in support of the Denver Rescue Mission for numerous years so when they learned of the turkey shortage they immediately sprung to action. After posting on their websites and social media pages encouraging the community to donate to the non-profit, the dealership realized that some people may not be able to make it all the way downtown before the Monday night donation cutoff.

“We realized that for people in our area it might be easier to just drop them off at our dealership and we could have a runner take loads three times a day,” one staff member states.

Once that plan was established, the managers and owners of the Denver Car dealerships decided that they could do even more - they committed to matching any donation dropped off at the dealership.

With a plan in place, and many more turkeys needed to be donated, the Colorado Volvo dealership will have a busy week ahead before the Thanksgiving holiday.
