TheRenewableEnergyCentre.co.uk Announces the Addition of UK Energy Efficiency Advice Centre Directory

The Renewable Energy Centre announced today that it is actively supporting the Energy Efficiency Advice Centre (EEAC) UK network and has established a dedicated section on the website with direct links to every Advice Centre homepage.

Kenilworth, United Kingdom, April 29, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Renewable Energy Centre is an online specialist resource for businesses, government organisations and individuals researching sustainable and renewable technologies. Launched at the beginning of 2007, The Renewable Energy Centre has already established itself as an authority website in the sector through media coverage and a large network of links from energy related websites.

Richard Simmons, founder of The Renewable Energy Centre said “Our website should be the first port of call for any individual or business new to the subject of energy efficiency as it provides a comprehensive introduction to the key areas of renewable technology. Renewable energy is such a rapidly growing industry and in this case we felt it was particularly important to direct people to organisations such as the Energy Efficiency Advice Centres, which would enable them to speak to a qualified adviser on a one to one basis”.

He continued “The EEAC network is a valuable local resource for people and trained advisers are able to assess the needs and requirements of each individual and their home. We hope that in directing individuals who visit The Renewable Energy Centre to their local EEAC that it will encourage proactive action towards reducing the effects of global warming.”

The Energy Efficiency Advice Centre network was established by the Energy Saving Trust (EST) in 1993. This was in response to the UK Government's pledge to do its part to tackle climate change at the 1992 Earth Summit. EEAC’s are not for profit, independent organisations that have the advantage of a firm understanding of the local area, housing stock and government grants available in each area to help towards the costs of installing measures.

It is estimated that UK households are responsible for over a quarter of the country’s carbon emissions yet recent research by USwitch.com highlighted that 79% of people felt that they did not have enough information to help them become more energy efficient. The Renewable Energy Centre strongly encourages those visitors interested in home improvement to visit a local advice centre for help. The EEAC network currently has 52 regional centres covering the whole of the UK.

The Renewable Energy Centre is the first online UK directory of its kind to announce its support for the Energy Efficiency Advice Centres and provides a service which will help to raise awareness among homeowners and enable them to make informed decisions about saving energy in their home.
