This was announced by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), Carnegie Mellon University, USA. The appraisal was conducted by KPMG and included stringent reviews of the processes followed by IBS for software development and service delivery. With this appraisal, IBS retains its membership in an elite group of around 200 organizations across the globe to achieve this level – the highest an organization can attain in the CMMI framework. IBS had been appraised at Level 5 against earlier versions of the CMMI model in 2002 and 2006.
CMMI is a process improvement model used to assess the maturity of a company's software development processes and practices. Level 5 indicates the highest level of process maturity and reflects an organization's capability to evolve and implement best practices in development of products and services through innovative process and technological enhancements.
