Williamsburg Environmental Group, Inc. Donates Time and Material to Hornsby Middle School

Williamsburg Environmental Group, Inc. (WEG) coordinated fundraising and donated employee time and expertise to install a new batting cage and create a practice pitching mound at Hornsby Middle School in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Williamsburg, VA, December 03, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Williamsburg Environmental Group, Inc. (WEG), a local environmental consulting and engineering firm, has sponsored a new batting cage for the Hornsby Middle School baseball team. WEG president, Ron Boyd, coordinated the funding for the 70 foot long batting cage and three WEG employees donated their time, equipment, and expertise to dig and install the cage on one of the school’s baseball diamonds.

“We have a great interest in supporting youth and sports,” commented Boyd, “especially in our local communities as many of our employees have kids that are involved in local athletics, me included.”

In keeping with the environmental concepts of reuse and recycle, the dirt that was excavated for the installation of the cages was used to create a practice pitching mound as an added bonus to the baseball team.

The effort was made thanks to the Williamsburg Youth Baseball League and the parents of Hornsby Middle School’s baseball players who contributed the funds necessary to purchase the batting cage for the school. WEG employees then donated their time and equipment to install the cage.
