Catholic Family Services of Simcoe County Seeks Holiday Donations

Beeton, Canada, December 03, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Tis’ the season to be giving and holiday donations can be a great gift idea. Catholic Family Services of Simcoe County (CFSSC) is hoping to receive support this time of year. The non-profit charitable organization is encouraging holiday donations toward their professional counselling services in Simcoe County.

CFSSC offers professional counselling to individuals, couples and families living in Simcoe County regardless of religious or spiritual affiliation. The charity also provides family education groups and community development activities in the areas of social justice.

Catholic Family Services of Simcoe County receives no core government funding and relies on ShareLife, The United Way of Greater Simcoe County, generous donations and counselling service fees to operate. The charity has been devoted to the community since 1979 and hopes Simcoe County residents will keep them in mind when making donations this holiday season. Donations can be made via their website: www.cfssc.ca.

The Catholic sponsored charity has offices in Barrie and Midland. With a growing demand and waiting lists for many services, CFSSC began running walk-in counselling clinics in June 2009. These clinics operate in Alliston, Barrie, Bradford, Midland and Orillia. Each walk-in clinic location is designed to provide quick access to professional counselling. These services are provided on a sliding fee scale based on household income and family size. Subsidies are made available for those who qualify.

According to Heather Bebb, Executive Director of CFSSC, “This is an exceptionally challenging time of year for our organization. People often struggle to meet unrealistic holiday expectations with regards to gift giving, decorating and family gatherings. It can be very stressful for families who may already be dealing with financial challenges, marital discord or separation and divorce. We need the charity of others to help us offer hope during this holiday season and year-round.”

Catholic Family Services of Simcoe County is a Catholic sponsored non-profit charitable organization. In the spirit of hope and compassion, CFSSC together with community partners is committed to providing professional counselling, education and advocacy to heal and strengthen family and individual life.
