The NC Center for Women in Public Service Co-Hosts Event with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Women’s Summit

Workshop Encourages Women to Seek Leadership Positions

Raleigh, NC, December 04, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The NC Center for Women in Public Service (NCCWPS) (http://www.nccwps.org), a nonpartisan organization that prepares women for elected and appointed offices statewide, has announced that the center is partnering with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Women’s Summit to co-host a Women On Board Workshop on Friday, Dec. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the UNC Charlotte Center City building located at 320 E. 9th St. in Charlotte, N.C. The event will focus on the importance of women to state and local policy agenda, process and legislative outcomes.

The NCCWPS also encourages interested organizations to engage in partnership and sponsorships with the Women on Board Initiative. Partners provide recruitment and assistance in procuring space and accommodations in exchange for a full-day workshop for their constituents and members, while the sponsorship program offers area companies and foundations a unique opportunity to reach a diverse audience of ambitious professional women.
