Presque Isle Downs & Casino Sets Ambitious Goal for PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS Charity

Erie, PA, December 03, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Presque Isle Downs & Casino is sponsoring PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS and has set an ambitious goal of raising $40,000 for the charitable program. Last year $35,080 was raised for the cause.

This is the 27th season of the PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS campaign which has matched 27,482 residents at 322 long-term care facilities with a member of the community who personally delivered a gift.

Since its inception in 1984, PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS has raised gifts and visits for more than 431,113 men and women in nursing and personal care homes in Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, West Virginia and Tennessee. The program was founded by William V. Day, president of St. Barnabas Health System. Knowing that nursing homes and personal care homes can be lonely places, the goal is to put a smile on the face of a nursing home patient while introducing members of the community to their local long-term care facilities.

“It is a great program and we support it 100%,” said Fred Buro, Presque Isle Downs and Casino President. “During this time of giving we are trying to encourage people to help their fellow citizens as much as they can. This is our second year of involvement. The casino is a firm believer in being a good citizen to the community and this is just one of many ways we like to give back.”

The PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS drive will run from now through December 15th.
All proceeds collected will be given to the PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS charity. Every person is permitted to take advantage of this special offer once per day through the end of the promotion. For more information please contact the Players Club desk.
