Arizona Cannabis Society Announces Tops for Tots

El Mirage, AZ, December 10, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Arizona Cannabis Society would like to announce the "Tops for Tot's Toy drive."

Any card holding patient can bring a toy to any AZCS facility and drop it off in the toy box next to the Christmas Tree. Notify the front desk you are making a toy donation and they will give you a receipt good for a free clone!

"The idea came to us as we were topping and trimming a small section of our vegetative room. We had to get rid of lots of tops just to keep the plants under control, and it seemed a shame we couldn't do something with them. The law states each patient that uses our facility can only cultivate 12 plants each. To stay within state allowed amounts sometimes we have to destroy some of the 'tops' that could easily become clones. Well, if a clone is rooted, its a plant, if not, it isn't. So we have plenty of clones that we timed to root on or around a certain day. These groups of clones are timed to start rooting over the next 2 weeks, allowing us to stay within state limits as well as supply an almost limitless number of clones. 'If you bring a toy, you will get a clone.' As a Collective AZCS members assist each other, and no one else in most cases. AZCS does however always have plenty of clones available and is also Arizona's only authorized distributor of Subcool Seeds and TGA Genetics, those services are always available to any patient whose card states they are 'authorized to cultivate'."

"All clones are 'terminal shoots' that are rooted in one inch rockwool cubes and are ready to be transplanted into any type of garden a patient may have at home. These clones are healthy, vibrant and ready to go," said Dana Nutt, one of three master cultivators for AZCS. "This a great way for lots of new patients here in Arizona to get growing with genetics proven to produce high yields of outstanding medication."

The name "Tops for Tots" didn't take very long for the AZCS staff to come up with and the program is now in full swing with clones going out daily. "We look forward to being able to give back to the community and show the people in Arizona that we can have a very positive impact on our communities if we just open our hearts for those that rely on us the most, the children in our own neighborhoods."

"We want the rest of the industry to step up," says Bill Hayes, CEO for Arizona Cannabis Society. "We want people to step up and work together, if we can get every cardholder to donate a toy, over 17,000 Arizona kids could have a better Holiday season. I think we can do it, and we're ready to put our clones where your toys are!"

A recent Food Drive held by the Cannabis Society during a patient appreciation party managed to raise $190 which the AZCS staff matched for a total of $380.00 and just over 700 lbs of food for the Kids Cafe Program and the West Side Food Bank. AZCS is hoping the word spreads fast enough to truly make an impact this year.

Card holders should visit their local AZCS locations for more info or to donate a toy. Suggested toy cost is between $10.00 - $20.00 and must be in the original packaging & unopened. Any patient not willing to grow can get a 'top' of another kind, a gram of medical marijuana will be donated to any patient that is not able or willing to cultivate but brings in a toy donation.

Hayes, who is looking to send a message to the rest of the state wants to tell everyone "Any and every MMJ group, organization, or even just a compassionate friendly store owner that is willing to participate should contact AZCS as soon as possible. We can get a toy box and volunteer to you the same day in most cases."
