LoopRope™ and Walmart Have the Holidays Tied Down

LoopRope™ inventor scrambling to fill multiple retail orders both nationally and internationally for his no-knot fastener.

Medford, OR, December 15, 2011 --(PR.com)-- “Tie Downs Made Easy” invention will be rolling into Walmarts across the country this holiday season. The retail giant has just ordered over 11,000 "LoopRope™s" from the Medford-based company, making it Jeff Dahl’s largest wholesale order since inventing the product just over two years ago.

“LoopRope™ is a revolutionary tie-down system that eliminates the daily use of dangerous and limiting bungee cords, overkill cargo nets, and most other light- to medium-duty tie downs,” explains inventor Jeff Dahl. It was invented through trial and error after Dahl became frustrated with tightly knotted ropes and flimsy bungee cords during a trip to the dump.

Initial permutations included lengths of rope with hitch knots using plastic zip-ties to create the tensions he needed, which worked but not the way he wanted. "The zip-ties failed and sewing shock cord together proved to damage the cord,” he said. Trial and error led Dahl to forming permanent loops in shock cord by crimping aluminum ferrules and covering those with a plastic heat shrink. His invention went patent-pending the latter part of 2009.

At first, multi-colored LoopRope™s dangled from rafters in Dahl's east Medford garage. He now has 8 employees and has moved into a warehouse off Parsons Avenue. With the product’s rising popularity he is filling orders from several retail clients in the US, Ireland, Australia, and Japan. Retailers such as Cabela’s, Camping World, Amazon, and now 1,100 Walmarts across the country will start integrating the product into their stores just in time for the holiday season. Dahl recently sent an order of LoopRope™s to the USMC base in Yuma, Arizona and expects to be picked up by other military retail stores.
