San Luis Obispo, CA, December 16, 2011 --(PR.com
)-- Whizbang, a local marketing company in San Luis Obispo, has been hosting TweetChats for businesses each month as a way for them to network through social media channels. The chats are also a way for businesses to get advice and talk with their peers about issues and trends facing the business world.
Whizbang says they got the idea to start this when they published their SLO County Business Social Media Report. The report was published in October this year and revealed the top profiles on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube among San Luis Obispo County businesses.
“We are very active on the social channels and we saw that there were a lot of people we didn’t know. All of us were having conversations internationally, but we rarely engage with people locally, which is why we created the chat. This TweetChat is all about real businesses talking about real business issues. Everyone can learn from each other,” said Ellen Curtis, owner and managing partner of Whizbang.
The chats take place on Twitter every third Friday of the month at noon. December will be the third month local businesses gather online. Whizbang picks a topic each month, and then proposes questions for the participants to discuss.
“Someday we would like to have a Tweetup, where we can all meet up somewhere and meet face to face,” said Curtis.
For local businesses to participate, follow the hashtag #slobizchat on Twitter.
