Alexander Proudfoot Welcomes Robert A. Lutz to Global Advisory Board

Atlanta, GA, December 17, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Alexander Proudfoot Company, a leading global operational consultancy, has appointed Robert A. Lutz, recently retired Vice-Chairman of General Motors, to the company’s Global Advisory Board. The Board plays a vital role in Proudfoot’s strategy and value-added business approach and is composed of well-respected executives from various industries who lend their expertise to communicating and positioning the company’s position in the marketplace.

Lutz is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of Lutz Communications and holds a number of board positions with The New Common School Foundation, U.S. Marine Corps University Foundation, Marine Military Academy, Transonic combustion, Inc., Advisory Board of Lotus Cars and VIA Motors.

Lutz is most well known for his 47 year career in the global automotive industry, during which he served in senior leadership and board positions at General Motors, BMW, Ford and Chrysler. He held positions in global sales and marketing as well as international operations, but his reputation was most notably built by his work in product design and product development. The development of the Dodge Viper, Ford Sierra, Ford Explorer, BMW 3-Series, Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Solstice among others are all credited in varying degrees to Lutz’s initiatives. The Society of Automotive Engineers Foundation recognized this work in 2006 by presenting Lutz with the Manufacturing Leadership Award, which honors individuals who have made meaningful contributions to the development of the automotive industry.

Lutz received both a bachelor’s and master’s from the University of California-Berkley. He also holds an honorary degree of doctor of management from Kettering University and an honorary doctorate of law from Boston University.

“As we continue to partner with clients around the world to help them achieve operational excellence, the addition of Bob Lutz to our Global Advisory Board is a tremendous step forward,” comments Alan Steelman, Proudfoot’s Vice Chairman. “The knowledge and insights Bob brings to the table are unparalleled in the automotive industry. We look forward to the significant contributions he will make in further developing our client solutions.”
