Samurai Karate Studio Helps to Fulfill a Little Boy's Wish

Columbia, SC, January 01, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Sensei Chris Feldt, owner and chief instructor for Samurai Karate Studio, located in Richland Northeast Columbia, South Carolina, recently announced his karate school participated in a Christmas card campaign to fulfill the wish of a little boy with Leukemia.

"One of my martial art's friends had read an article in their local paper about an 8 year old boy who was in the hospital, being treated for Leukemia," commented Sensei Feldt, "All he wanted for Christmas was a 1,000 Christmas cards and I shared this story with my students at my school."

One of the students, Tammy Schwarz, shared the story with her 8 year old daughter Brianna who decided she wanted to do something about it. So Brianna, with the help of her mom, talked to her teacher and asked all of the children to make a Christmas card for this boy. She also made a flyer and asked all Samurai Karate students and family members to make a card.

By the time the cards were ready to be mailed, Brianna had collected over 200 cards.

"I felt really bad for this boy and wanted to help," explained Brianna, "so I asked my mom if I could ask my teacher and she said yes. I wrote my own card and asked him to write me if he gets feeling better."

"I encourage all of my students to practice acts of kindness and perform community service projects as part of their rank requirements," stated Feldt, "Brianna has a heart of gold and did a great job getting these cards completed and mailed."
