Miami, FL, January 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Rich Cultural Events for the Masses and, Free.

New Florida resident, Jill Patton, launches website that features free events in Miami (and the rest of South Florida); more than 2,000 cultural events on one calendar. The site focuses on Miami activities - concerts, exercise classes, theater productions, art exhibits, museum programs, sporting events, etc.

Having spent almost her entire life in Washington, DC moving to Miami, Florida in 2010 was quite an adjustment for Jill Patton. Once in South Florida she discovered that it was a challenge to find rich, cultural events... for free. So, she created FreeMiamiFun.com on November 7, 2011.

The move to Florida was prompted when Patton’s husband got a job offer in the Sunshine State.

Being able to access the daily concerts at the Kennedy Center; festivals, exhibits, and lectures at the Smithsonian; and access to the National Zoo for free seemed a right rather than a privilege and Patton was determined to find those same kinds of events in South Florida.

"It all happened because of random conversation with a complete stranger while relaxing on the beach. An older gentleman in a tan hat talked about how he enjoyed Florida but missed the rich cultural events of New York. He described (with glee) the parades, festivals, art exhibits, and concerts he'd come to take for granted in the city that never sleeps.

"And, we discussed the possibility of those same free events being in South Florida and our inability to find them," said the web marketing maven.

"So, I sat down at my computer and created the first version of the site. I'd managed corporate websites for Fortune 100 firms, but I hadn't ever designed one," Patton said.

"However, I took on an IT consulting position and got busy managing web projects for a high tech firm and all but dropped my website idea. When my contract ended, I refocused my energy."

So, she re-launched the second version of the site which features events, concerts, free access to museums, festivals, classes, seminars, and services. All in South Florida and all free!

"Let's face it. These are tough economic times. People still want to enjoy life, but they might not be able to afford the things they love. I'm giving them an inside scoop on wonderful events that will create joy and happiness. I may not be able to paint, sculpt, or sing but I can tell you where you can find those things.

"I also want tourists to be able to use the site to find events before they plan their vacations. And, locals can use the site to plan their weekends," said Patton with excitement.

And, the site’s event calendars are offered free to businesses. Companies can easily add the calendars to their websites.

The site features a special section just for kids, free services and products, and insider tips on how to live like a Freebie. Patton has taken on the title of "freeologist" because it aptly describes her level of expertise.
