Voicebox Karaoke: Kitchen Grand (Re)-Opening February 2nd

New menu created by Chef Janis Martin of Tanuki, featuring Pan-Asian drinking food and house-infused cocktails. Complimentary food, karaoke, and open house all night.

Portland, OR, January 08, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Voicebox Karaoke Lounge, recognized as Portland’s most unique and exciting karaoke destination, is now the first karaoke venue in the city where food rivals the music as top draw. The new menu is the brainchild of local chef Janis Martin of Tanuki fame, highlighted by pan-Asian sharing dishes and comfort foods that range from udon noodle bowls to steamed pork buns to bánh mì sandwiches, all of which pair well with Voicebox’s saké list and house-made saké cocktails.

To celebrate roll out of the new menu, Voicebox is hosting an official kitchen opening on Thursday, February 2nd from 4pm until close. The full lounge and premier suite will be open to all guests, with complimentary menu selections and open karaoke all night. A small number of reservations are also available for private parties. Further details and reservations can be found on the website at http://voiceboxpdx.com/reservations.

Voicebox guests can expect a changing menu anchored by such favorites as udon noodle boxes with ground chicken and a spicy tan tan peanut sauce, vegetarian or pork bánh mì sandwiches, brisket and kimchi rice boxes, and smoked salmon onigiri. The menu will also feature seasonal foods and a variety of snacks such as shredded ika jerkey and house-made pickles.

Voicebox founder and President Scott Simon is excited to announce his collaboration with Martin, whose Tanuki re-imagined Japanese, Korean and Okinawan flavors for Portland around the same that Simon opened Voicebox. The partnership pairs two of Portland’s own, both of whom use their travel experiences to enrich their adopted home.

Simon opened Voicebox three years ago after falling in love with box karaoke in Korea, New York, San Francisco and elsewhere, realizing in the process that Portland needed a place where people would experience the power of group song and enjoy a first-class level of community and personal service.

Voicebox is open Tuesday through Sunday nights with a full menu available for parties large and small. Catering is also available for parties that plan at least a week in advance. For more information, press inquiries or to make a reservation, please call 503-303-8220.
