Healthy Heritage to Host Prayer Vigil Honoring the Dream of Dr. King

Elected officials, faith-based leaders, business/community leaders and citizens will gather together in unification to remember and honor the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Riverside, CA, January 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Healthy Heritage Movement, which strives to educate and empower the African American community to make healthy lifestyle changes, is proud to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his dream on January 16th from 4 to 6 p.m. at the site of Dr. King’s monument located on the corners of Main and 9th streets in downtown Riverside, CA.

This elaborate dedication will include inspirational music provided by Gospel Talent Search, a message by Supervisor Bob Buster, First District, Board of Supervisor Riverside County followed by a motivational message and prayer by Keynote Speaker Harold K. Webber, Senior Pastor of Living Way Christian Fellowship. The Healthy Heritage Movement invites elected officials, community leaders, and the residents to gather in unity to pray and honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in an effort to galvanize the community.

This event is just one of many other events that will serve as a foundation for larger events hosted by Healthy Heritage in an effort to get the community of Riverside healthier.

“To honor Dr. King’s birthday, it is only bestowing that we remember his legacy of peace and unity. The purpose of the evening is to honor his dream of bringing people together to live as a community. I think it is very important to begin a new year by giving thanks for getting through last year and to ask for protection, good health, and economic prosperity for the coming year,” said Phyllis Clark, chief executive officer of the Healthy Heritage Movement.

Immediately following the ceremony, guests are invited to a special sneak preview of an art exhibit showcasing contemporary African American artists curated by renowned artist Charles Bibbs in honor of Black History Month at Healthy Heritage Cultural and Wellness Center located at 3637 9th St., Riverside, CA. 92501.
