Mercedes Belux is a company of Daimler. Mercedes-Benz BeLux chose the Excentive solution to help steer, motivate and incentivize their independent dealer network.
Mercedes-Benz BeLux made the decision to implement Excentive to manage dealer sales commissions and motivate their dealer network on incentives more in line with the overall company strategy. In addition to managing sales commissions and motivating their sales force by additional bonus rewards, Mercedes-Benz BeLux required a tool which could accommodate the constantly changing factors of their dealers’ incentive plans in a fast and simple way.
Mercedes-Benz BeLux has rolled out the Excentive solution in Belgium. Excentive’s unified platform enabled Mercedes-Benz BeLux to define a unique application specific for each type of dealer, in one platform and one solution. The Excentive solution has been deployed in multiple languages. The application has specific indicators for each dealer type varying from quarterly sales targets and rankings to customer satisfaction indices, inventory rollover and test-drives targets. The Excentive application allows for the weight of these indicators to be re-defined based on current or forecasted sales conditions, ensuring the dealers’ compensation is aligned to Mercedes-Benz’ corporate strategy as well as changing market situations. The application indicators are fed to Excentive by a daily link to the Oracle DWH. In addition, non-Oracle sources also feed the Excentive application allowing external data such as customer satisfaction surveys performed by third parties to complete the basis for incentive data.
Communication to the dealers is also a key aspect of the application. At any time, dealers can access the application and see how they are currently performing against their incentives as well as their current sales ranking. This allows the dealers to focus on any initiatives where they have not reached their defined target. The dealers also have the ability to use the application to shift targets from one quarter to another allowing Mercedes-Benz BeLux to optimize predictability of the bonuses.
