Agape Assistance Helps Homeless Family

Agape Assistance, a nonprofit in Boise, Idaho, is helping its first family, in conjunction with CATCH – a nationally recognized organization.

Boise, ID, January 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Agape Assistance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Boise Idaho who helps families that are struggling in this economic downturn. Many families have lost their employment, creating a downward spiral: within months they find themselves at a homeless shelter.

“My kids have a warm bed, but there are so many out there that don’t!” says Lynn Hardy. “Things are bad, and only getting worse. I have to do something, now!”

Lynn’s heart propelled her into action. “I am not a woman of means: I don’t know any millionaires or movie stars. But will give what I can to get this charity started.” She founded Agape Assistance by donating 100% of the proceeds from the first book in her series to this nonprofit. Book signings and author event are only one of the many ways Agape raises funds for families, right here in Boise.

Agape Assistance isn’t a shelter. Agape's purpose is to find programs already in place, good programs with reasonable administration costs, and works with them to help families in need.

Agape Assistance has a fully vested board who are determined to make the most of every dollar entrusted to them. “This way, Agape can act as a watchdog over the funds entrusted to us. We will find and investigate programs so that our supporters can be reassured that their donations are going to the families and not CEOs of charitable organizations.”
