Long Island Center for Nonprofit Leadership Appoints Arthur Brian Leander as Assistant Director

Former Senior Planning Consultant with the Institute for Organizational Leadership becomes Long Island Center for Nonprofit Leadership's Assistant Director.

Garden City, NY, January 19, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Long Island Center for Nonprofit Leadership at Adelphi University has appointed A. Brian Leander as assistant director. Brian Leander was formerly the senior planning consultant with the Institute for Organizational Leadership (IOL), a nonprofit educational institution based in Jasper, Georgia. At IOL, he delivered strategic planning, leadership development, and organizational development for nonprofit organizations. Mr. Leander has 20 years of proven leadership in executive coaching, leadership, and organizational development, and strategic planning.

Leander was the founder and president of Diversity and Emerging Markets Strategies (DEMS), a management consulting firm that enhances organizational human resources and marketing strategies. In addition, Leander served as Organizational Strategist with the Church Resource Ministries (CRM) ReFocusing Team where he specialized in training, coaching, and developing leaders for cross-cultural ministry. He has presented at the International Leadership Association, the Academy of Management, and the Randall L. Tobias Center for Leadership Excellence at Indiana University, among others. Brian received his B.S. from Dowling College and an M.A. in Organizational Leadership and a Graduate Certificate in Servant Leadership from Gonzaga University. He is currently working on a Ph.D. in organizational leadership at Eastern University.

Housed in the School of Social Work, the Long Island Center for Nonprofit Leadership promotes excellence in leadership by providing multifaceted resources that are responsive to the needs of underserved communities in Long Island’s nonprofit sector. The Center offers programs and services for executive directors, boards of directors, and new and emerging leaders and their organizations on Long Island.
