The pediatric therapy and autism services company, Bilinguals Inc. / Achieve Beyond, is hosting a continuing education workshop in Manhattan for therapists in the New York metropolitan area.

New York, NY, January 19, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Bilinguals Inc. / Achieve Beyond has made it one of their goals to offer more affordable continuing education workshops to several disciplines of pediatric therapists in the tri-state area including physical, speech and occupational therapists. Their first continuing education unit (CEU) workshop announced for 2012 will be a workshop in partnership with Dynavox entitled, “Use of Augmentative Devices and Technology for the Early Learner.” The workshop will be held at The Hotel Pennsylvania March 21st 2012 and is recommended for speech language pathologists and occupational therapists to attend. This trans-disciplinary ASHA & AOTA CEU eligible workshop will be presented by the Regional Training Specialist with the Dynavox Mayer-Johnson Team in New York City, Kathryn Sequino, M.A, CCC-SLP. Kathryn has extensive experience providing speech and language services to school aged children. Currently she provides workshops and trainings on implementation of AAC devices to parents, professionals, teachers, educators and agencies.

This Use of Augmentative Devices and Technology for the Early Learner CEU workshop will offer attendees an in-depth review of communications devices, the populations best served with these devices as well as possible funding sources. A specific focus will be on the use of these technologies with children on the Autism Spectrum and how communication devices can be seamlessly introduced into behavior analytic programs. By the end of this workshop participants will be able to list importance, uses and candidacy of AAC devices, list at least three uses of the InterAACT Framework, know how children with Autism can utilize AAC devices as an alternative or assistive method of communication and know how to implement language use and language structure elements built into the InterAACT with verbal behavior for children with Autism.

This is one of the many continuing education workshops that Bilinguals Inc. plans to offer therapists in the New York City area throughout the year. They know that offering professional continuing education workshops will help maintain their status as one of the leading pediatric therapy agencies in the New York metropolitan area. Bilinguals Inc. also hopes to partner with more organizations to host future continuing education trainings, parent workshops and special needs conferences in the near future. This CEU workshop and many others can be registered and paid for online in the workshops section of the Bilinguals Inc. company website.
