The smartphone app for iPhone and Android includes typical app features like community and individual property listings and details, elevations, videos, news feed and brief content about Ashton Woods Homes – all fed, in real-time to the app from the company’s back-end data systems.
The app also includes a set of financial calculators to help prospective buyers determine how much home they can afford, how much in utilities they can save and even how they can pay down their mortgage in less than 30-years. Prospects can also easily identify the homes they like, save them in the app, email them and even share them on their social networks like Facebook and Twitter.
But, the real wizardry in the app comes from how the GPS feature is being used to aid home buying prospects. The app includes a geofence which is a virtual perimeter around a specific location. When this virtual perimeter is crossed; for example, when an app user drives by an Ashton Woods community, they receive a real-time message on their screen, alerting them; providing community-specific information, text directions and/or encouraging them to stop in at the local community.
