Raleigh, NC, February 04, 2012 --(PR.com
)-- Chip Mims, CEO of Mims Distributing Company (http://www.mimsdist.com), a beer distributor that services a nine-county area in and around the Triangle, has announced that the company partnered with Saint Saviour’s Center’s Healthy Baby Program to facilitate the distribution of 40,000 diapers on Friday, Jan. 27 to local families in need. Mims Distributing loaded the diapers, donated by Huggies, onto one of its trucks and then dropped them off at a central location in the Triangle. Volunteers then picked up the diapers and distributed them to other locations.
Based at Saint Saviour's Center in downtown Raleigh, the Healthy Baby Program provides diapers to clients of Growing Together Preschool, StepUp Ministry, Wake Relief, and the Shepherd’s Table Soup Kitchen, located at the Church of the Good Shepherd.
“Many families struggle with keeping their babies in clean, fresh diapers because they are forced with having to choose between purchasing diapers or another essential needs such as food,” said Mims. “Mims Distributing Company has always had a culture of community involvement, and we are glad that we are able to help provide diapers to those families who need them.”
