Women Presidents’ Organization Announces Susan Masten as Keynote Speaker for 2007 International Conference

Raleigh, NC, May 14, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Susan Masten, co-president of Women Empower Women for Indian Nations (WEWIN), was a keynote speaker at the 2007 the Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO) International Conference “Beyond Business As Usual: The Next 10 Years” held at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Ariz. Masten founded WEWIN to provide native women with the knowledge, support and resources necessary to achieve success in their personal and professional lives.

Prior to her co-presidency of WEWIN, Masten served as president of the National Congress of American Indians and as the Yurok Tribal chairperson, providing testimony before Congress as well as leading workshops for college and professional events concerning tribal sovereignty, trust fund management, resource management, and environmental justice. After attending the conference, Masten pledged to launch a WPO chapter for Native American women.

The 2007 International Conference encouraged WPO members and potential members to share their business strategies and experiences with other successful women across North America, as well as learn from interactive seminars and speakers.

“WPO was proud to have Susan Masten as a keynote speaker at our international conference,” said Marsha Firestone, Ph.D., president and founder of WPO. “Her presentation was inspirational as she paved a path of empowerment for women with the support and knowledge necessary to achieve success.”
