UCP Becomes the Fiscal Sponsor of the Blake Institute of Technology Foundation

The Blake Institute of Technology Foundation partners with the business community to create/provide internships in the Information Technology and Computer Science arena along with offering real life work experience to inner city high school students, physically handicapped, veterans and the hearing impaired to inspire them to reach their maximum potential and become significant contributors to society.

Detroit, MI, February 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Jim Blake, the founder of Blake Institute of Technology Foundation, has more than 25 years experience within the business community, and co-founder, Gina Blake, saw the lack of job readiness in the at-risk students in the inner city. That's when they decided to establish the nonprofit project to address this need. United Charitable Programs is the fiscal sponsor of this program.

"The Blake Institute will offer an effective program for students to obtain their two year Associate’s Degree in IT. Our Institution will prepare our students to become responsible IT experts," says Blake. "We believe in the academic achievement and exposure to diverse opportunities for inner city high school students, physically handicapped, hearing impaired, and veterans, by providing continuous education, and re-tooling can inspired them to reach maximum achievement potential and become significant contributors in today’s society and future."

Blake is looking to partner with other members in the business community to create internships and become mentors in Information Technology and Computer Science arenas. These programs will offer real life experience to the students who are most at-risk.
