Vaco Raleigh Raises Funds for Make-a-Wish Foundation® of Eastern North Carolina

Executive Placement and Consulting Firm Sponsors Annual Triangle Game Initiative Charity Golf Tournament

Raleigh, NC, February 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Vaco Raleigh, LLC (http://www.vaco.com/raleigh), an executive placement and consulting firm, has announced that it has raised $1,000 for Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Eastern North Carolina as a sponsor of the annual Triangle Game Initiative Charity Golf Tournament held at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course at NC State University on Oct. 6, 2011. The tournament involved 60 players and 10 volunteers, an increase in participation of 40 percent, and raised 30 percent more than the inaugural 2010 contest to benefit the foundation, which provides wishes to local children with life-threatening medical conditions. Chairing the event was Troy Knight, managing director of design and gaming at Vaco Raleigh, LLC, who serves on the Triangle Gaming Initiative board. He helped organize the tournament, obtained sponsors to raise funds to benefit Make-A-Wish, and encouraged teams in the gaming industry to take part in the event. As part of the activities, two local gaming companies, Insomniac Games of Durham and Epic Games of Cary, provided studio tours for wish children through Make-A-Wish. They enjoyed a behind-the-scenes view of how a video game is put together and what each position in the company supports.

Quotes:
“The work that Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Eastern North Carolina provides for ill children and their families is incredible, and I am pleased to announce we raised more for the cause in this year’s tournament,” said Knight. “The outreach that Vaco Raleigh provides the Triangle community extends beyond what we achieve professionally, and this is a prime example of our continuing efforts to support worthy charities such as this one. We look forward to donating even more money to the foundation next year.”
